Dr Justin Adams received his qualification through the Durban University of Technology and completed his Masters dissertation with distinction. In addition, he has completed the FICS hands on modules for the Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner qualification. He is also an active member of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa.
After Graduating, Dr Adams was awarded the Mario Milani award by the Chiropractic Association of South Africa for his outstanding internship portfolio. With his sporting background, Dr Adams focused his care on sports related injuries and started practice in Durban at the Northwood Sports Medical Centre. During that time, he stood as the Chief Medical Officer of the Varsity College Rugby Club in Durban for 4 years. Prior to that, Dr Adams served as the African regional director and Secretary on the Board of Directors of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS) and also lectured Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Injury Profile and Management Protocols at the Health and Fitness Professionals Academy (HFPA).
Since then Dr Adams has expanded his practice to a model that encompasses family wellness and care but still sees athletes to fuel his love and passion for sports chiropractic. In 2014, Dr Adams relocated to Cape Town and opened Tygervalley Chiropractic to provide chiropractic care to the people of the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. Dr Adams has attended numerous international conferences and seminars in the USA, Brazil, Australia and Spain, in order to keep up to date with the latest evidence within the realm of neuro-musculoskeletal pain and disorder.
Dr Adams sees patients of all ages from new born to geriatrics. Whether it be pain relief, injury prevention or performance enhancement, Dr Adams’treatment approach is patient dependent and encompasses a vast range of methods .
